Bonnie's Bus wil provide life-saving breast cancer screening mammograms to West Virginia Women
In spring 2009, West Virginia University (WVU) launched “Bonnie’s Bus,” a mobile digital mammography screening unit. Dedicated to providing women with support, the 40-foot long bus visits areas where women may otherwise be forced to travel long distances for screenings. The bus and mammograms are made possible through a generous gift from Jo and Ben Statler to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. Their donation underwrote the Bonnie Wells Wilson Mobile Mammography Program as well as two endowed research positions at WVU. The gift was made in honor of Mrs. Statler’s late mother, Bonnie Wells Wilson, who died of breast cancer.
