Supportive Services offered at the MBRCC
Look Good…Feel Better: This is a class provided by the American Cancer Society. It is for women who are in treatment, will be in treatment or who may have just finished treatment. The class is taught by a cosmetologist; and provides education about skin care; nail care and hair/scalp care during treatment. Women go home with a kit valued at over $200; with moisturizers, sunscreens and make-up from Estee Lauder, Clinique, Bobby Brown, Smashbox, etc… The class is fun and very educational. We offer it every other month; the first Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. See calendar for more details.
The Survivor’s Club: Now in its 9th year; this group is for all cancer diagnoses. This group meets the second Wednesday of every month; in the ground floor conference room of the MBR Cancer Center. Supper is provided; and the group meets from 6-8:00pm. See calendar for more details.
Caring for the Caregiver: This is a new group. We meet the first and third Monday of every month; at the Rosenbaum Family House, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm. The group is geared to caregivers who are away from home; and away from normal supports. We will not turn any caregiver away. Light refreshments are served. Transplant Support Group: This group meets every Wednesday at 2:00 pm in Ruby, on the 9th floor. Group is open to patients, families and staff. Contact Chaplain Kim Belcher at 304-598-4526 for more information.
Post-Transplant Group: This group is for patients who are at least six months out from their stem cell or cord transplant. It meets monthly; on the 3rd Thursday, from 1:30 to 3:00 pm. The meeting is held in the Atrium; which is beside the Infusion Center on the first floor of the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center. Light refreshments are served.
