WVU Cancer Institute Betty Puskar Breast Care Center

Part of the WVU Cancer Institute, the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center in Morgantown, West Virginia provides comprehensive, all-encompassing breast care for women and transgender and gender-diverse people in West Virginia and the surrounding region. Patients have access to a comprehensive, all in-one breast care program that provides expert care, educational tools, and technology all aimed at the prevention, early detection, and treatment of breast cancer.

Imaging specialists at the Betty Puskar Breast Care Center (and the mobile mammography unit Bonnie’s Bus) provide the most accurate screening and diagnostic results to properly diagnose and support women and transgender/gender-diverse people with cancer. The Betty Puskar Breast Care Center is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology and is federally certified by the Food and Drug Administration under the Mammography Quality Standards Act.

The Betty Puskar Breast Care Center is named for Betty Puskar, who was married to Mylan Pharmaceuticals co-founder Mike Puskar and diagnosed with breast cancer in 1985. Betty sought treatment in Houston, Texas because there was not a breast cancer center in Morgantown. She fought through the disease and was determined to build a breast care treatment facility in Morgantown so that others would not have to leave the state to get exceptional care. Betty died at the age of 80 in 2020.
