William P. Petros, PharmD

Associate Director for Anti-Cancer Drug Development, WVU Cancer Institute

William P. Petros, PharmD, a professor of pharmaceutical sciences, is the Gates Wigner Endowed Chair and dean of the WVU School of Pharmacy. He is also associate director of anti-cancer development and director of the clinical pharmacology and biospecimen processing cores at the WVU Cancer Institute.

Dr, Petros has published more than 100 articles in the areas of pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics, and early phase anti-cancer drug studies. He is a graduate of the WVU School of Pharmacy and earned his doctoral degree at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. He completed research training at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

He has been continually funded as a principal or co-investigator on National Institutes of Health private foundation and pharma cancer-related grants for more than 20 years.

Dr. Petros is an experienced cancer researcher who has served on a number of review committees for the National Institutes of Health and other national research organizations.
